Project:BRANCH BANK &Mixed use BUILDING

Client:AIB-AWASH INTERNATIONAL BANK

Location:JIMMA

Design Competition:1st Prize Winner
Description of the Project: This is a design competition project floated by AIB for JIMMA branch office and mixed use building. This project is rehabilitation/remodeling of an existing two storey building. The Overall Layout – The branch bank is located at the prime location of the site .the bank dominantly seen from every direction. The shopping levels from the ground to second floor level have their own character whereas the rentable office space occupies the remaining levels. A main circulation core is located prominently at the mid way of the building giving occupants options get to their various destinations.  In the previous design proposal it was two staircases & elevators in a much closed manner which looks inefficient & uneconomical so in our new proposal we suggested to have one controlled vertical core. The Lobby - Is designed to give a high end look for the shoppers and tenants. The lobby has spaces for customer and shoppers sitting area.  The Shops – The two level shopping levels are accessed from the stairs located at the central part of the building giving shoppers to visualize the commercial activities.  SUNSHADING- Since some part of the building is facing to West & south west we have proposed fixed sun shading devises which can protect direct sun for the users.Concrete and aluminum shading materials are selected as appropriate.
