Design Proposal

Our design proposal is to adhere and in line with the brief that has been set out in the Terms of Reference and the mission of the University, addressing the relevant planning issues and campus expansion visions stipulated in the “Strategic Objectives” of Bahir Dar University. The overall vision of Bahir Dar University is ‘to become one of the ten premier research universities in Africa in 2025 GC recognized for its quality education, research and outreach activities’.

Landmark

To create a master plan with well thought and conceived design consideration to create a University Town that is seamlessly integrated with Bahir Dar City and its surroundings.

Form & Massing

Ecology & Sustainability

Taking advantage of the prevailing unique natural features such as Lake Tana, The Blue Nile River, the endemic fauna and flora, topography and climate, we have devised an ecological concept design for the development of the this master plan.

MASTER PLAN CONCEPT

THE GREEN HEART

The Green Heart is a concept of rediscovering the sense in the endeavor for education and research and the opportunity for the university to contribute and champion widely to the ecological definition of the region in its purse of excellence

FUNCTIONING LANDSCAPE

In this design proposal we have considered the importance of Landscaping within our scheme and also the need for ecological sensibility and bio diversity conservation issues.
